Wheyhey serves up a treat at Bear Grylls Survival Race

New to most of us, this year the legend that is Bear Grylls held his first Survival race and festival at Trent Park. Wheyhey were there, ready and waiting for the Sun to come out… and when it did, the queues formed.

Saturday morning saw the start of the 5k and 10k races, with heats starting every half an hour it was sure to be busy morning. The courses were full of natural obstacles, beautiful forest and allowed survivors to develop their physicality.

The ice-cream went down a hit (as usual), whole families were enjoying a tub in the great weather, it was the perfect snack for the entertainment the Bear Grylls team had put on that day with Newton Faulkner seeing the day out with his classic song ‘Dream Catch me’.

Sunday brought the hardcore 30k Ultimate surviver racers, with over 100 obstacles it was sure to test limits. But, Wheyhey was on hand to refuel all of the competitors that crossed the finish line with 20g of protein it was sure to hit the spot.

All in all, a great weekend with perfect ice-cream weather, plenty of fun and just one cheeky glimpse of Bear Grylls. Get on the website and book on to race for next year, not just for the medal but for the free ice-cream too!
