We think we are a pretty great company to work for, don’t believe us? Our current placement intern has answered a few questions about life at Wheyhey HQ…
Tell everyone a little bit about yourself.
Hey guys I’m Hannah! I study International Business at Loughborough Uni (yes, I do wear gym clothes almost every day!), am obsessed with the Chicken Teriyakis from Itsu and am currently spending my placement at Wheyhey!
What do you do at Wheyhey?
My role is the ‘Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator’ but to be honest I’ve done a bit of everything! From meeting customers to developing relationships with retail managers and sending out product to digital influencers, I have created social media content and currently manage the Wheyhey blog as well as the digital platforms themselves. I also sort out the collaborations with other brands for giveaways which is always so much fun!
What’s your favourite flavour?
I usually hate chocolate ice cream – but I actually love the chocolate Wheyhey! Not too sweet or rich – it’s just right and seriously yummy!
Tell us about your greatest memory during your internship?
I have so many to pick just one but actually working with such a tight-knit team has been incredible and I’m going to miss them so much! Oh yeah, meeting Joe Wicks was pretty cool too
What does life after Wheyhey hold?
Being exposed to such a young and entrepreneurial environment, it has really inspired me to think about starting up my own business in the future!

We joined Jack Wills, Zaini, Bounce Life, Intrepid Events, Cocopro and 250 supporters to cheer on what turned out to be an epic game of Rugby.
The celebrity line up was made up of; Duncan Falconer, Rory Lawson, Josh Patterson, Ben Coomber, Tom Mitchell, Tom Weston-Jones, Cameron Cowell, Charlie Walker, Ben Botica, The Turner Twins and Mel Deane! Quite a line up!
Although the Flair Bears battled hard and led for much of the game, it was an unsuspected try, made by the strong combination of England Sevens Captain Tom Mitchell and his team mate Cameron Cowell that won the game… and shattered the dreams of 300 Flair Bear fans!
Following the final whistle, we all took to the pitch in a Guinness world record attempt to complete the biggest Flair Bear Dance (LINK) ever… forget the cha cha slide, the whip nae-nae and the macarena.
The day was all in aid of raising money for a fantastic cause. In 2007 Barty Hills (Danger Bear) was diagnosed with a benign meningioma (brain tumour). He had to have an immediate craniotomy due to the size of the tumour, where the surgeons were able to debulk it, but not remove it completely. Since his recovery, Danger Bear set up the Flair Bears: a fun and exciting invitational rugby team, that competes in various tournaments to help raise awareness for brain tumours, and specifically Brainstrust and the work they do.

With only 5 days left of this heinous month, over here at Wheyhey HQ we thought we’d put together some emergency survival tips to keep you feeling positive happy and healthy! You can make it guys!
Tip 1 – Laughter! After the christmas season looking down can be no laughing matter. It’s thought that laughing intensely for an hour can burn as many calories as lifting weight for 30 minutes! So get a classic friends box set out and get giggling – just think how much damage an entire season could do.
Tip 2 – Frisbee. With this cold front FINALLY moving on get yourself outside! Take your dog or a group of friends and get frisbeeing. Just 30 mins spent throwing, catching or epically failing can burn nearly 100 calories.
Tip 3 – Backward Running. This one comes with health and safety cautions. The better and arguably more cooler name for this is ‘Retro running’. Give the neighbours something to talk about and hit the streets only backward. it’s been noted that 100 steps backwards is the same as 1000 steps forward. As your running backwards you will need to be far more alert in how you navigate yourself. One things for sure, your trip to the corner shop will never quite look the same again.
Tip 4 – Twerking. This is a great one for if you’ve had a crappy day and you need to cheer yourself up, just pop on the thong song and get twerking. We recommend a firm stable surface and a strong supporting wall. Not only will you look great doing it but it’s great for toning your core, glutes, hips and thigh muscles. It’s also meant to improve lower body flexibility which is always great for showing off a party trick.
Tip 5 – Bokwa. An unusual and relatively unknown form of exercise but one of the most effective and fun. Bokwa involves using your feet to draw letters or numbers while doing cardio to music. Whilst helping to strengthen your twinkle toes it also combines forms of Kickboxing, African dance, Light boxing and Capoeira. It’s great for toning those lower body muscles and can also burn up to 1,200 calories.
Tip 6 – Cycle Karaoke. This last tip is for those who are unafraid of public opinion or for any who have a bike at home. If you love singing and cycling this is a right treat for you. The basics of this is that your singing will be a reflection of your heart rate. For every perfect note you sing you need to cycle harder. You should be well and truly panting by the time you reach the end of your rendition of Celine Dion ‘my heart will go on’. Singings also been proven to boost energy levels which improves motivation levels and stamina. Spin certainly is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

Saturday morning saw the start of the 5k and 10k races, with heats starting every half an hour it was sure to be busy morning. The courses were full of natural obstacles, beautiful forest and allowed survivors to develop their physicality.
The ice-cream went down a hit (as usual), whole families were enjoying a tub in the great weather, it was the perfect snack for the entertainment the Bear Grylls team had put on that day with Newton Faulkner seeing the day out with his classic song ‘Dream Catch me’.
Sunday brought the hardcore 30k Ultimate surviver racers, with over 100 obstacles it was sure to test limits. But, Wheyhey was on hand to refuel all of the competitors that crossed the finish line with 20g of protein it was sure to hit the spot.
All in all, a great weekend with perfect ice-cream weather, plenty of fun and just one cheeky glimpse of Bear Grylls. Get on the website and book on to race for next year, not just for the medal but for the free ice-cream too!

Just over two and half years ago Jordan started lifting weights seriously and for the first time in years she noticed the real change in her body. Suffering from being overweight as a teen then experiencing an eating disorder later on in her teens, in her own words “I can finally say I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been”. She has always been into fitness as she was a competitive swimmer from a young age and had the discipline for 20 hours plus training a week and 5am starts, but nutrition was her main problem and her relationship with food was unhealthy, from over indulging to eating next to nothing.
When speaking with Jordan she told us the following. “I have always struggled with weight, and admired the fitness models, I would of never imagined being where I am now, and I have to thank my business partner, my soul mate, my fiancé Ray Bath, the other half of our fitness brand BodyByJR. We met at the gym (ironically), and he got me lifting heavy, cutting down the cardio, and eating more… yes more food and more carbs! I went to University and have a Bsc Hons Sports Science degree, so I am knowledgeable of nutrition and training but didn’t believe my body could achieve these results as I have always struggled and never been the prettiest or the fittest!
In June 2014, we both decided to enter Miami Pro UK championships in October 2014, it was our biggest challenge yet as we both struggled with body image from a young age. We prepped each other for four months and I lost two stone! I was in my best shape ever and people were asking me for help that I hadn’t heard from for years! I looked in the mirror and couldn’t believe it was me. Ray came 5th in the UK Fitness Model Over 75kgs. We then had November and December off competition, and got engaged Xmas eve in Mexico which was magical! January 2015, we decided to prep again for the World Championships Miami Pro April 2015, where I came to stage in better condition and came 6th Bikini Model and 7th Fitness Model. Again I couldn’t believe the stage pictures were me!
They key to our success is each other, we have so much passion for the industry, prep together and compete together. Our personal training business provides weekly bootcamps, 1-2-1 and group personal training which includes personalised meal and training plans at Ripped Gym Basildon. We also offer online services and have over 30 online clients and see over 60 1-2-1 clients per week between us. our services work very closely with the client, an open door policy, and our aim is to help others improve their lifestyles for the better, just like we did, and I work very closely with females that experience the same past as I did and am proud to say many are on the road to full recovery.
Nowdays, lifting heavy weights, eating more food and going self employed launching BodyByJR was the best decision I ever made with Ray. We are planning to continue our offseason for the rest of the year and compete again next April so prep will start Jan 1st 2016! People do not understand the work that goes into competing, make sure you have a positive circle around you and have 110% dedication for it. You have more low days than highs – There is no magic pill. Set yourself a realistic time frame, hire a very good coach, invest in Tupperware and have the discipline to prepare your meals – and that’s not just for competitive athletes, that’s for anyone that wants to achieve results! Finding the right balance is key to a healthy lifestyle. As a personal trainer it is my job to motivate people, and now when clients say to me that I inspire them, it is priceless.
It’s safe to say we’re massively proud of Jordan here at Wheyhey & it’s been a pleasure to get to know her. These are the stories we all love hearing, so if you want to feature as one of our High Five Friday, give us a shout on social media of email us at info@wheyhey.com To find out more about Jordan check out all her social spaces here:

The Sun was on our side on the Saturday, ready for Ironman Kids and Iron man expo, so there was no need for our ponchos this time! Our protein ice cream flew out the ‘freezer’ as Ironkids crossed the finish line, ready to restore their energy!
Sunday’s weather wasn’t so promising but luckily we set up camp inside the athlete’s village. Despite the weather there was a great buzz for competitors and even with the rain spectators lined up along the red carpet ready to cheer on the athletes.
Eighteen-year-old Brennan Townshend was the first into the tent with a time of 4:42:30 where he found a massively deserved pot of Wheyhey waiting for him!
Soon after the athlete’s village had a great atmosphere with finisher’s congratulating one another whilst grabbing a pot of Wheyhey to refuel- chocolate proving to be the favourite!
Within the tent we met a great guy named Callum Hughes who told us that he was racing for #katieslegacy, after hearing the story we knew we needed to share it. Follow this link to hear the full story of Katie: https://www.justgiving.com/Katies-legacy
Exmoor Ironman’s, thank you again for having us! We hope next time brings us a full weekend of Sunny weather!

His journey started when at 16 he found out he weighed 20st 3lbs, & decided to take matters into his own hands. He started to lose weight through a controlled diet & regularly hitting the gym, not through any fad diets. 3 years in & he had already lost 5-6 stone. Then in early 2012 he started to lift weights seriously, he then went on to lose another 4st over the next 3 months. His overall weight loss to date is 10-11st & he is now focusing on overall muscle composition & is currently shredding to celebrate the 10th year of his change in September with a photo shoot. His main focuses are currently around muscle group workouts (Backs/Bis, Chest/Tris, Shoulder/Calves/Abs & Legs) with a bit of HITT & LISS mixed in for good measure.
We’ve got nothing but admiration for James here at Wheyhey HQ as he has shown a massive amount of commitment & mental strength to change his life the whey he wanted to. As always we’re so proud to have James feature as our High Five Friday & to have him as a part of our Wheyhey family now

Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire consisted of a 1.2-mile swim in Chasewater reservoir and a 56-mile bike course through the stunning countryside outside Lichfield, Burton-upon-Trent and across Cannock Chase area of outstanding natural beauty. The race concludes with a 13.1 mile run which started and finished at the historic Shugborough country estate (blimey we are tired just writting this), the former ancestral home of Lord Lichfield, a renowned royal photographer and cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.
The weather was not on our side for Saturdays Ironman kids and Ironman Expo however we donned our rain ponchos and we were ready to refuel the Ironkids! But luckly Saturdays downpour meant we were looking promising for a dry Sunday.
As promised by the Ironman team… the sun surely did shine on Sunday. It wasn’t long till we started to see bodies appear on the iconic red carpet.
The £25,000 first prize was won by Javier Gomes, the 2012 Olympic Triathlon silver medalist and current Ironman World Champion. He completed the race in 4 hrs, 2 minutes and 13 seconds. Lucy Gossage, from Nottingham, won the women’s event in 4 hours, 31 minutes and nine seconds!
We were ready and waiting in the athletes tent to refuel the competitors as they cruised through the finish line looking like they had just been for a short run. Wheyhey was most definitely well received and more importantly massively deserved! We had a fantastic time at Ironman, bring on the next one!

The Flair Bears are a 7’s and beach rugby team and definitely earn our High Five this week. This is a fun loving team that enjoy sport, live life to the full and are a true admiration.
One of the players, Barty – or better known on the pitch as Danger Bear! – suffers from a brain tumour. This incredible team are slightly different from the rest, as they raise awareness and funds for their associated charity braintrust, and encourage all people to get involved in sport and life with a smile on their face.
Head on over to their feature on England Rugby’s Real Rugby Stories, for even more about their inspiring story.
They’ve also been filmed by Aviva for a feature called Rugby Matters, which was played at Twickenham during the Premiership Final.
Congratulations on all your fabulous work so far guys. Keep it up and we can’t wait to see more big things from The Flair Bears in the future!
Share your stories with us too, either @WheyheyOfficial or pop us an email to info@wheyhey.com.
Big love to you all! x

A day filled with loads of activites and the hottest new Dj’s on the scene, there is definitely something to suit everyone. From the elite teams to the ultra socials, or if you’re just a spectator, the sport is where the action happened!
With our Wheyhey camper set up by the main stage, we admired the lads and ladies as they competed in Rugby 7’s, Tag Rugby, Netball games, Lacrosse, Volleyball and the all new Dodgeball!
Two of the team even gave the British Military Team fitness circuit a go, can you guess who won the tug of war?!
For those who stayed into the night, the evening really kicked off!
The the music vamped up, we got our skates on at the roller disco and tested our skills at Zorb Football, an absolutely crazy game and the ultimate exercise – for those who don’t know what it is, check it out – it’s a great laugh and running around in a giant bouncy ball is definitely not easy!
It was a wicked day down at Richmond for us and as always we loved seeing everyone there!
We’ve got a busy summer of events here, so give us a shout if you’re heading to some with us!

With the Wheyhey Camper sporting its very own tash, we’ve been mo-touring around this weekend and ready at the finish line for all those Mo Bro’s and Sista’s after their 5 & 10K’s in Bristol & Battersea.
We were graced by excitable runners, styled head to toe in fancy dress and modelling their new nose neighbours at the start line, so it promised to be a good day.
They sure were ‘hair-ing’ round the track, as they set new PB’s and even a fastest time of all the races so far! We like to think they were running that extra bit faster with the Wheyhey camper in sight, for their exclusive first taste of our Banoffee ice cream!
Of course, we must remember that these mo-tivated face-laced folk, are all running to change the face of men’s health and they were certainly doing so in style.

]]>Wheyhey really shone in the spot light at the Vogue Fashion Night Out hosted in ALDO’s flagship store.
We had a feeling LFW bloggers and shoppers would need the extra fuel to keep them going down Oxford High Street, so we were on hand with our little pots of natural protein ice cream
There were certainly plenty of very happy customers with a Wheyhey in hand and some fancy new shoes on their feet. As we see it, the perfect pair last night was certainly a new Aldo purchase combined with one of our tasty pots!
It was lovely to see everybody and it was great to hear so many of you love our Wheyhey ice cream as much as we do!
]]>We certainly spent Monday the right whey this week, as we headed to the Facebook HQ bright and early, armed with a great Wheyhey team and set up for the Facebook Wellness Day!
With the Wheyhey team in great spirits, we fully engrossed ourselves into a day of working at Facebook and of course tried of all their incredible facilities, with a Wheyhey table tennis tournament and a rock climbing wall challenge.
Our mentality here is certainly to work hard, play hard, so there was a lot ice cream giving and enlightening the employees to the Wheyhey world too! Not only did our Wheyhey go down as a great sugar free dessert after lunch, but it provided the perfect healthy snack for during the day too.
It was clear, that once again, our ice cream pots are definitely serving people well with all the goodness they provide and the fun the Wheyhey team bring.
We will let you know what whey are we heading next, so hopefully we will see some of you lovely Wheyheyer’s there!
]]>With the first sampling of our new flavour in partnership with Movember, we can assure you it cooks up quite the storm and you’re on for a total winner!
Sadly though, we are going to have to leave you in suspense for just a bit longer before we release the news we know you’re dying to hear!
What we can tell you, from no words of our own, is that it is absolutely delightful! With all the same protein pack quality, no added sugars and totally natural ice cream, of course created with a whole lot of wheyhey love, you definitely will not be disappointed!
We will only tease you for a couple more weeks, so keep guessing and hold tight.. the wheyt will be worth it!

With the roots of Wheyhey grounded in the fashion industry by our investor David Gandy himself, we were extremely excited to be sponsoring over 20 different events and providing our delicious ice cream to the stars and guests of the shows this Autumn and Winter 2014.
First up, Wheyhey arrived for the DASH Launch Party at Hoxton Arches and it wasn’t just the first impressions for the Autumn/Winter 2014 Issue Launch that went down well!
With over 600 guests attending the evening, our ice cream definitely got the taste buds going for all who indulged in our protein packed pots!
With London Fashion Week coming to an end, there are still a number of not to be missed fashion events Wheyhey are sponsoring that we have to look forward too, starting with Aldo Show on Oxford Street this evening! If you can’t make it down be sure to check out it out on the upcoming blog.
