Calling all tossers…

To all you tossers and flippers and choppers and sprinklers it’s that delightful time of the year again!

It’s the one day of the year where you can unashamedly eat pancakes for all three meals of the day and no one can say a thing about it.

Over here at Wheyhey HQ we thought we’d put together a list of 3 amazing meals that will allow you to indulge to your hearts content whilst not requiring you to loosen your belt (too) much.


Breakfast – Cheese & Corn pancakes with smoky bacon & caramelised banana

Let’s start with the most important meal of the day. We all know we need a little summin summin to wake us up in the morning and keep us going till the 11:00 grumbles so why not go the extra mile and add a little jalapeno for that extra kick! This recipe comes from the pioneer of healthy eating Mr Jamie Oliver – you can find the complete recipe by just clicking here.

It’s a great mixture of a variety of ingredients that you might not usually put together. You’ve got sweetcorn, spring onions, fresh chili, large eggs, cottage cheese, wholemeal self raising flour, semi skimmed milk, smoked streaky bacon (mmmm), and some small bananas. The Tabasco jalapeno sauce is optional but we dare you to give your taste buds a rude awakening.

The best thing about this pancake is that it allows you to eat CHEESE!

Did someone say cheese??

Cottage cheese is the lowest in fat compared to other cheeses – it’s also got an abundance of protein (which we love here over at Wheyhey!) The cheese helps keep the pancakes light and fluffy making it the perfect meal for a breakfast feast!

Lunch – How does Avocado & Banana pancake stacks sound???

After such a filling breakfast we thought we’d keep it simple but fun with some avocado! Not only is it a fun word to say but it’s soooo deliciously tasty!

This easy recipe is made using all purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, ripe and fresh hass avocado, ripe banana sliced and diced, reduced fat milk, large eggs & vanilla extract. For dinner we’re really going to push the boat out, it’s time to undo your trouser button and out do yourself in the kitchen.

Dinner – Druummrolll …. Moni’s Amazing Wheyhey Chocolate & Banana Pancakes

We’re gonna dish out an old favourite of ours – back last year we teamed up with the supremely talented Monica Zolczer (Moni) who impressed us with her unreal ability to create mouth wateringly delicious dishes whilst still being healthy and nutritious. The ingredients consist of rolled oats, coconut flour, natural yogurt, cacao powder, baking powder, mashed banana, egg, almond milk, stevia sweetener and a splash of milk. To top off this delightful concoction add a scoopful of Wheyhey Banoffee ice cream like a perfect cherry on top. Moni certainly didn’t hold back on packing in the flavour! These pancakes taste so good you’ll be stuffing your face well into the evening.

It’s key to remember that the successes of all these dishes does truly rely on how good you can toss. Be bold, be brave and make sure you’re wearing protective headgear. Confidence is key.
